| GROUP VACATIONS Why put together a group of friends to go on a vacation? Seriously, isn't the whole point of a vacation to get away from it all and have fun? Wouldn't bringing old friends or extended family just complicate the whole "vacation" and make it not as enjoyable? These are valid concerns, and for some the whole group thing just isn't there cup of tea. Yet there are really some great opportunities out there to easily get a group of friends and their spouses together for a vacation that everyone could enjoy. The trick is to pick something that doesn't require too much planning or decision making and allows the group to relax and hang out. The worst group vacation is where everyone looks at each other and needs to decide where to eat each night for dinner, how to split the check, what must-see things will be accomplished the next day and how to get from point A to B in a timely fashion. All this is stressful and even good friends find it hard to travel with each other after a while. There are some perfect vacation experiences targeted for group travel. Actually they are more fun in groups, rather than as a single couple. The first and easiest option: All-inclusive resorts. Mexico, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and St. Lucia all come to mind as meccas for all-inclusive vacations. Mexico really dominates in this category and provides amazing resorts for all tastes and budgets. All that is required is to show up at the resort, and the group can eat, drink, and play all day with no big decisions to be made or bills to pay. Cruising is the second easiest group vacation. The ships are big and there is lots to do, fun places to port, and different shows and entertainment options for everyone. So if you want to hang out together for the day you can, or if you want some alone time you can as well. Plus most cruise lines offer special group pricing and the 16th passenger in the group is free. The best option to explore the culture of a new place is by going on a Luxury Coach Guided Tour. These are amazing ways to explore and experience a place you all have dreamed of seeing, and doing it together with others you know rather than with a group of strangers. The best part is that no real itinerary planning is required and no big decisions have to be made while on the trip. You have the freedom to really get out and enjoy the place while knowing that every bit of the details of travel have been taken care for you already. You get to experience something new with friends and by going with friends you get special group pricing and every 8th passenger is normally half off. I believe we weren't meant to travel alone or do life alone, but rather as a community. Traveling together forges lifelong friendships and renews old friendships. Try it sometime! Guidato Travel can provide you with helpful ideas on how best to set up a group vacation, starting with gaining interest in a specific itinerary to negotiating group pricing to booking individuals into the group and communicating with the group pre-vacation. |
